CONTINUING EDUCATION

It’s That Time Of Year Again!

No worries.

RECP has you covered. Indiana requires 12 hours of approved continuing education each year, always due by June 30. Every 3 years, you must renew your license with the state. RECP is an approved real estate school for continuing education in Indiana. We suggest one of our convenient 12-hour packages that has the right mix of required CE classes. RECP updates its CE packages every year so you’re always getting the latest and greatest to keep you competitive in your field.

If you are a REALTOR® member, 12 hours of online education at no additional cost is yours each year as part of your Indiana Association of REALTORS® member benefit. A twelve-hour OnDemand CE package has already been added to your RECP account so just go to the blue COURSE LOGIN at the top right of this page to access.

Continuing Education and License Renewal Date: 6/30 every three years. The next renewal June 30, 2023.

Hours Required by Indiana: 36 hours (12 hours per year)

Seat Time: The Indiana Professional Licensing Agency requires that all students spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.

Reporting: Real estate course completions are reported to the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency. The state requires schools to report course completions within seven to ten days from the course completion date. Course completions will be reported within this time frame.

Expiration Date of Course: Online course expiration dates are one year from the date of enrollment. Each course has an individual expiration date which is based on the date of your enrollment.

Exams: No exams for onsite continuing education. Online courses have exams that must be passed with at least a 75% and may be taken as many times as necessary in order to pass.

Certificates: Upon completion of the online course, an electronic certificate will be available for download. For onsite classes, an email will be sent to you within 7-10 business days that instructs you on downloading your certificate.  Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies. Please refer to your license renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate of Completion with your license renewal request. Course completion dates are recorded using Eastern Standard Time. Please note that the date of your Certificate of Completion will reflect this.

What CE Do I Need?

The following really does apply to everyone— both Brokers and Managing Brokers:  You do not need to submit your CE or course certificates of completion to the Indiana Real Estate Commission or Indiana Professional Licensing Agency each year or at license renewal time. Just save those certificates in case of audit.

Brokers: Are you on track to complete 36 hours of state-approved CE before renewing your license? That’s 12 hours each year of this 3-year license renewal cycle. No? The IAR-owned Real Estate Certification Program, or RECP, can help: 1-800-742-4067 or info@recp.org

Managing Brokers: Please remember that 4 of the 12 hours of CE you complete each year must be state-approved Managing Broker curriculum.

Newly licensed Brokers: You must complete a state-approved 30-hour Broker postlicensing course within 2 years of your license issue date. This course is required and satisfies your initial CE requirement during the first 2 years of licensure.
